Like many, when Tony was young he wanted to be an actor. Then, after a bunch of shows, he thought he knew more than anybody else (he was wrong), so he gave directing a shot. Between directing projects, he started building sets and hanging lights, and one thing lead to another and there he was designing sound. 16 years later, he's still at it.
Currently, Tony is freelance Sound Designer, oftentimes working with Lifeline Theatre. Prior to that, he was a proud ensemble member of Signal Ensemble Theatre, where he was the Resident Sound Designer, Graphic Designer, Webmaster and Production Manager. During his time with Signal he worked on over 30 productions including over 20 sound designs, 15 poster designs, one complete Website Redesign, one turn as a Director, a handful of Technical Direction, three goes as a Stage Manager and a lone acting job - It was the role of Lucky in Waiting For Godot, so it counted for about three or four shows.
Prior to Signal, Tony co-founded The Right Brain Project with Nathan Robbel, Colby Sellers and Anthony Tournis. A company with a strong focus on intimate, clever and raw stories and stagings, Tony had many opportunities to design, direct, build, perform and manage during his time there.
Signal and The RBP kept Tony very busy over the years, but he has also had the pleasure of designing for Lifeline Theatre, The Factory Theatre, Collaboraction, Shattered Globe Theatre, Chicago Public Schools, Bailiwick Repertory and Oak Park Village Players.
